Quality Boots – Red Wing Shoes Long History of Quality

Since 1905, a small manufacturer in Red Wing, Minnesota, has been producing one of the best selling boots in the world. Charles H. Beckman started Red Wing Shoe Company in a small river town and sold his first pair of boots for $1.75. Two years later, the company was turning out 100 pairs of boots a day. By 1915, their production exceeded 200,000 pairs and soldiers in World War I were issued the Red Wing Number 16. Red Wing Shoes is still going strong, and is a well-known and well-respected manufacturer of a variety of shoes and boots, serving nearly every industry worldwide.

The Red Wing Shoe Company now boasts four facilities and employs hundreds of people, but their commitment to quality workmanship and superior materials keeps them competitive and still very popular. Other brands may come and go, but Red Wing boots continue to march on. The quality and durability of Red Wing boots is legendary, and the company continued to provide footwear to the U.S. military in World War II, by offering hundreds of sizes and widths.

After the war, Red Wing shoes continued to grow in popularity, and also began designing shoes and boots specific to certain industries. They continue to offer sizes in the “hard to fit” range and their comfort and durability makes them a hard-working boot worldwide.

Still Made By Hand

Still based in a sleepy river town and still employing skilled craftsmen to make their shoes and boots by hand, Red Wing Shoes has expanded to produce almost 200 styles and production tops 2 million pairs each year. If you want quality and durability in a work boot or an everyday shoe, Red Wing has a brand in your size that will last for years.
